The Situation
Early on, we discovered that this job site, undeveloped at the time, was riddled with unsuitable soil. Consequently, our team had to really dig deep to find solid ground for Casa de Corazón’s latest Spanish immersion daycare, located in Rochester, Minnesota. With evaluation from respected experts in the field, the B2 team was able to present the client with a cost-effective ground improvement solution in Geopier stabilization, drilling more than 140 geopiers into the ground to yield a buildable lot for the client.
Other issues arose, too. The recent pandemic left behind material shortages and delivery delays, along with pricing instability, which affected the entire building industry – and this project! In addition, the team faced a lengthier than usual approval process with the city.
The Result
Despite several unexpected issues during site prep and construction, B2 Builders was able to successfully control project costs throughout every phase of construction. In addition, we kept the approval process moving along, keeping all parties accountable and on task. The end product is a beautiful, modern childcare center with wood framing and colorful interiors, sure to inspire future generations!
